Planters, an overview

Almost every gardener uses planters to some extent. They are useful for gardeners in many ways. Planters save your time and effort as they eliminate the need for all the preparations that has to be done if you are growing your plants on the ground. They save space too. Planters also let you have more control and flexibility over the layout of your garden because the plants grown in planters can be moved around, provided they are small enough. If like having plants indoors, planters come in handy. Weeds are not as troublesome in planters as on ground, mainly because  there is much less surface  area in a planter  for them to spread, and you can easily pull them off if they do appear.

Planters greatly vary in size, shape, placement,  materials they are made of, and their purpose. You need to consider what type of plants to grow, whether to grow them outdoors or indoors, the extent of planting, and the available space, and your budget, when deciding what sort of planters to use.

Planters can be categorized according to their location as "Counter Top Planters", "Garden Planters", "Hanging  Planters", "Patio Planters", "Wall Mounted Planters", and "Window Box Planters".

A "Decorative Planter" can be considered as an example for how the planters vary according their purpose. As the word suggests, "Decorative Planters" can be used to make your garden attractive.

Ideally you would want to use a combination of planter types in your garden, home or  office. Make sure you assess your needs and resources thoroughly before deciding exactly what to use.
