Do you talk to your plants?

I’m from Sri Lanka, which is a small and extremely beautiful island in the Indian Ocean, just below India. I don’t know if there is a better place in the world for cultivation, because of the very favorable weather and geographical features of the country, and its culture, based mainly on Buddhism and Hinduism, that are religions that encourage agriculture as a good mean of earning a living. Before the arrival of new technology in the colonial times, Sri Lanka’s agricultural techniques were all environmental friendly, natural, organic and yet very scientific. I’m going to tell you one such practice that I’ve learnt from the old folks of my beloved country.

The concept is, plants grow better with close contact with humans who are care about them. You must spend must spend as much time as possible in your garden, with your vegetable, fruit, herbal, and other plants that you grow, talking to them, gently touching them, whishing them to grow well. They are all living beings.

There have been some experiments done on this by some scientists. It’s been found that the electromagnetic field surrounding a plant alters according to the behaviors of person towards it. But the best way to test this is trying it your self. I hope this information will be useful in your garden.
